lady herbert garden workshop

Lea, a third year student, took one of our improvisation sessions which took part in the Lady Herbert Gardens. We were asked to go to 5 places which we were particularly attracted to in the garden, and then create 2 gestures persnal to us and repeat them in these chosen places.

I discovered that my gestures differed slightly depending on which place I was in, therefore suggesting that use of surroundings/space can have an impact on movement.

The dfferent textures, colours, sights, sounds, and smells changed my mood and expression, and therefore creating small changes within my movement. In particular I found my movements became either smaller and more detailed, or larger and more expressive depending in the differents areas on the sight.
